Eliza S. (Sale) Allen was the daughter of James and Mary Sale of Essex County, Virginia, who moved to Jessamine County, Kentucky. She married George Washington Allen in Jessamine County, Kentucky, on December 4, 1830. They had the following known children:

Thomas Jefferson Allen 1831-1916
James William Allen 1835-1900
Mary Elizabeth Allen 1837-1915
Sarah Ann Allen 1837-
John Henry Allen 1839-1928
Richard Morton Allen 1841-1902
Hugh Goodwin Allen 1844-1936
Samuel Pinkerton Allen 1845-1916
George Washington Allen, Jr. 1847-1934
Lawrence Rice Allen 1850-1924

The Allen family was in the 1850 and 1860 census of Jessamine County, Kentucky. It appears that that Allens and most all their children migrated to Saline County, Missouri, soon after the 1860 census because at least two of the sons enlisted in the Civil War at Marshall, Missouri.

I was unable to find George and Eliza Allen in the 1870 census, but they both died in Saline County, Missouri, before the 1880 census and were bured at Slater City Cemetery.
