Mary Isabel Brennaman Campbell Cross was a person that had no enemies. She was a happy, fun loving lady that enjoyed helping and waiting on people. Her life was filled with what she loved the most and that was being a waitress. From the first time I met her in 1946 she had been working as a waitress. From the VeDoor Cafe to the Garden Grill to the Bus Stop to Tom's Tavern she took care of the patrons of Garden City with her beautiful smile and friendly attitude. She was an avid bowler and had won many tournaments and had many 600 series games. Her average was high enough she was a tough competitor. Sadly she was taken from us at age 60 by lung cancer. One of most famous sayings while in the Tavern business was if you swore in her presence it was "Put a quarter in the jukebox". She had 2 children with her marriage to Robert W. Campbell, Janice Radine Campbell and Gregory Lee Campbell(Wheezerdog).
