He was born to John A. Judd and Susan Camilla W. Judd on Oct. 19th 1920 in La Verkin, Utah. He had two siblings; Clair Judd M.D. (Gladys), and Ruth Excel (Grant). He spent many hours of his youth in Southern Utah working on his father's fruit and pecan farms and at his uncle's silent movie theater. It is here he gained a strong work ethic and decided to go to medical school.
He attended the University of Utah School of Medicine on a scholarship. Here he met his wife Dorothy Henderson and married in the Salt Lake Temple. After completion of his studies at the "U", he attended the University of Louisville Kentucky School of Medicine and graduated valedictorian. He completed his medical training at the Oakland Naval Base and then served aboard a troop carrier during World War II. He honorably served in the Korean War commanding an "evac" hospital in Tokyo, Japan. Following World War II he moved to Spanish Fork, Utah to start a general medical practice. He spent many hours performing surgeries, delivering babies, making house calls, and attending to all the communities medical needs. He retired from practice in 1993. He loved his patients and they him. He was the past president of the Utah County Medical Association.
When not working, he spent his spare time golfing on his favorite courses. They included courses all over the world as well as locally. He spent his winters in St. George golfing most of the courses there. His last golf game was this past fall at the Spanish Oaks Golf course where he was a familiar figure. Being an avid BYU fan, he attended most football and basketball games until his health failed.
He is survived by his children: Thomas Robert Judd Jr. (Dorothy), Marsha J. Mills (Ron), Paul J. Judd (Janene) and Douglas Brent Judd (Mary). He is the grandfather of 14, and the great grandfather of 28. He is proceeded in death by his parents, wife, brother, sister and their spouses.
