Full date of death and nickname taken from the Louisiana State Death certificate Index. Her obituary appears in the News-Star May 24, 1946.
The abstract of her death certificate found on familysearch, states she was the daughter of G.W. McCormick and Loucreatia McCrary.
According to Ouachita Parish marriage records, Susie McCormick married B.L. Whyte January 27, 1887. B.L. is probably the 17 year old Bennie Whyte in the household of the widow P.L. Whyte on the 1880 Ouachita Parish Census.
The 1900 census shows she was the mother of Willis and Hiram. She was also listed as a widow. Hiram was just 5 years old, so it can be assumed B.L. died in the late 1890's.
None of her sons ever married.
