W. T. Woolfolk, 55 years old and one of the most prominent business men and merchant of Lexington, died at his home in that city last Saturday morning at 9:30 o'clock following a protracted illness of several months duration. During that time his family and friends had been quite apprehensive of his recovery on account of several heart attacks with which he had suffered and which was the immediate cause of his death.
Will Woolfolk had many friends in this county, where he was born and grew up to young manhood, who will be grieved to learn of his death.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Woolfolk; one daughter, Miss Margaret Woolfolk; his mother, Mrs. Mary E. Woolfolk; one brother, John Woolfolk; and four sisters, Mrs. T. L. Broaddus, Mrs. R. L. Gulley, Mrs. J. B. Bourne and Mrs. Jennie Murphy.
Funeral services were held at the residence last Saturday afternoon, Rev. I. J. Spencer and B. C. Horton, officiating. Burial followed in the Lancaster cemetery.
W. T. Woolfolk united with the Christian church early in manhood and lived in the strength of an unwavering faith.
He was a member of the official board and treasurer of Central Christian church for a great many years, where his loyalty and devotion was always evident.
He numbered his friends by his acquaintances and was ever ready with congratulations for their successes and symapthy for their sorrows.
His loving heart and great arm was ever ready to support and help whenever it was needed.
He was a loving and devoted husband; a kind and indulgent father; a real homemaker whose hospitality was unbounded.
As a citizen Mr. Woolfolk was a true community builder and an advocate of high and noble principles.
The beautiful floral offerings bear mute testimony of the love and esteem of his hosts of friends.
