"One mile distant from Evergreen [Cemetery] off Comm. Ave. is Chestnut Hill Ave. and at #229 corner of South St. (school opposite) we lived in 1913-14. I went to second grade nearby. Ransom was born in that two-family house in rear lower floor bedroom on Aug. 18 1914. Shortly thereafter we moved down Comm. Ave. to #1132 - top floor - with brookline just behind our apartment so my folks resumed sending me to the Edward Devotion School near Coolidge Corner (I had gone there in first grade) where I went for some years graduating in 1922 and then going to Huntington School in Boston for 4 years followed by one year at New Prep enetering Harvard in Sept. of 1927."
