Elizabeth was born in 1830 to Joseph and Elizabeth "Betsy" Jamison Martin in Dromore County Down. Joseph and Betsy were weavers and had 3 children: Elizabeth, Thomas (1833 - 1917 Oakland, MD), and George (1834 - 1898 Benwood, WV). Betsy died in 1836 and Joseph then married Mary Adair in the Presbyterian Church of Dromara, Down.

Elizabeth married David Little, a blacksmith, in the 2nd Presbyterian Church of Dromore, Down on 1 Oct 1856. A few weeks later they along with Elizabeth's father Joseph, step-mother Mary and brothers Thomas, George, Joseph and John went to the United States. They sailed from Liverpool on the DeWitt Clinton and arrived in Castle Garden, NY 17 Nov 1856.

David and family first resided on Mott Street in New York City, they then migrated through New York State (Ithaca, Jamestown, New Hartford). David was likely working on additions to the Erie Canal or the new railroad lines associated with the expansion.

By 1863, Elizabeth and her family joined her Martin family in Oakland, MD. She became active in the Garrett Memorial Presbyterian Church and was a Sunday School teacher for many years.

Mary Ann Little Compton (1857- )
James Little (1858-1862)

Joseph Little (1861- )
Thomas Little (1864-1933)
