Dies At Fulton

Fulton, Ky., Sept. 3 – G. B. Butterworth, 74, a retired Illinois Central Railroad employee died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday at Fulton Hospital following an extended illness.

Funeral rites will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel by the Rev. James W. Best with burial in Greenlea Cemetery.

Mr. Butterworth was born in Greenfield, Tenn., July 9, 1897, the son of the late N. B. and Virginia Elkins Butterworth.

He moved to Fulton at an early age where he attended Fulton city schools. Mr. Butterworth retired in 1962 from the IC following 47 years of employment. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fulton and was a member of the Three C's Bible Class.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ethel Fisher Butterworth, a retired school teacher, and three nieces.

Three brothers – Noble, Harry and Henry Butterworth – preceded him in death.

Friends may call at the funeral honme after 7 o'clock tonight.
