Funeral services for the Rev. William Parker Bethea, Sr., 89, a retired Baptist minister, who died Thursday afternoon at his home, 570 Ogram Street, will be held at 2:30 P.M. today in the Woodlawn Park Baptist Church the Rev. A.L. Carnett and the Rev. G.E. Hodges officiating.


Pallbearers will be D.R. Rood, E.J. Prevatt, J.F. Carter, Harris J. Faulk, K.M. McIntosh and W.W. Jordan.


Rev. Bethea was a native of Marion County, South Carolina, and came to Jacksonville 21 years ago from Lake City. He was a member of the Woodlawn Park Baptist Church and of the Fort White Lodge, F and A.M.


Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Jessie C. Bethea; two daughters, Mrs. Edna Burkett, Lake Wales, and Mrs. Nellie Markham, Jacksonville; seven sons, Sam R., J.H. and W.P. Bethea, Jr., of this city, and Jack C. Bethea, San Angelo, Tex., D. Virgie Bethea, Waycross, Ga., Percy P. Bethea, Vidalia, Ga., and A.J. Bethea, Birmingham, Ala.; 36 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.


Interment will be in Riverside Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Key-McCabe Funeral Home.
