Dr. Leroy Bathke, 49, of Cleveland, died Monday afternoon at Hutchinson, Kans.,
where he was visiting.
Private funeral services have tentatively been set for Friday at Pfeffer Funeral
Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Arnold Wenger of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Sheboygan,
will officiate.
Dr. Bathke was born Feb. 25, 1920, in Kewaunee County, son of the late Reinhart
Bathke and Ella Bathke. He was a navy pilot in World War II and attended
University of Wisconsin, Madison, before being graduated in 1951 from Marquette
University Dental School, Milwaukee.
He maintained practice at Sheboygan from 1951 until retiring for health reasons
in 1966 and moving to Cleveland. He had operated Shoreline Motors at Manitowoc
from 1964 until 1967.
Dr. Bathke was a member of Wisconsin Dental Society, Sheboygan County Dental Assn.,
and Sheboygan Yacht Club.
He is survived by his wife, a son, William T., of Sheboygan; three daughters,
Maureen and Kathleen, of Sheboygan and Mrs. Robert Finger, of Thiensville; two
step-children, Mrs. Lawrence E. Zarda, of Sheboygan and Staff Sgt. Joseph L. Sauer,
with the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Seiler, of
Algoma; a sister, Mrs. Curt Herbst, of Green Bay and eight grandchildren.
There will be no visitation.
