Mrs. Elsie K. Bathke, 82, of the Manitowoc Health Care Center, died Thursday
evening, November 28 at Holy Family Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services
will be 10 am Monday at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc.
Rev. Arno J. Wolfgramm will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mrs. Bathke was born June 11, 1903 at Manitowoc, daughter of the late Henry and
Martha Schult Krueger. She attended First German Evangelical Lutheran School.
Mrs. Bathke worked as a Dental Assistant and a Nurses Aid. She married Otto
Bathke on June 14, 1932 at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church. He preceded
her in death on March 1, 1939. She was a member of First German Evangelical
Lutheran Church where she was baptized and confirmed.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyne and her husband, Rev. Alvin
Spaude of Fond du lac; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Mrs. Ida Lettenberger
of Manitowoc, Gertrude and Leonard Poe of Joshua Tree, California, and Miss
Marie Krueger of Manitowoc; four grandsons, David, Thomas, Joel and Mark Vetter
and a granddaughter, Mrs. George (Mary Beth) Hausauer; two great grandchildren,
three step great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and Paul Krueger, three sisters,
Mrs. Harry (Erna) Muetzel, Miss Caroline Krueger and Mrs. William (Martha) Keery.
There will be no Sunday evening visitation. Friends may call at First German
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, 8:30 am to the time of services on
Monday. Memorials may be made to First German Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is in charge of arrangements.
