Manitowoc Woman To Be Named By Democrats To Head Permanent Woman's
Bureau Which National Committee Will Establish
To be the first woman organizer of a political party in the United
States is the distinction which Mrs. George Bass, of this city will
enjoy, announcement being made from Washington that Mrs. Bass will
be appointed head of a woman's bureau which the democratic national
committee will establish and maintain as a permanent situation for
work among women voters in equal suffrage states. Mrs. Bass will
organize and direct a campaign of education of women in the tenets
of the democratic party in preparations for the congressional
elections in the equal suffrage states in 1918 and for the
presidential candidate in 1920.
