Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. James Episcopal Church,
Manitowoc. The Rev. William Harvey will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery.
Mr. Basken was born Dec. 16, 1873, at Kingsbridge, son of the late John and Minnie
Gove Basken. As a young man, he moved to Dodge Center, Minn., and later to Big
Sandy, Mont., returning to Manitowoc in 1917. Prior to his retirement 21 years ago
he was employed at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc.
He married Josephine Rommel Fanger Sept. 28, 1927. She preceded him in death
Dec. 9, 1955. He was also preceded in death by four brothers and six sisters.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Thomas Innes and Mrs. Eva Green of Manitowoc and
Mrs. George Orevalas and Mrs. Harry Slack of Pasadena, Calif., four grandchildren
and nine great grandchildren.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 3 pm. Tuesday until 1:15
p.m. Wednesday when the casket will be taken to the church.
