DANIEL CHARLES BARYENBRUCH

Daniel C. Baryenbruch, age 80, of 953 N. Eighth St., Manitowoc died Friday,
Oct. 7, 2005, at St. Luke Medical Center, Milwaukee.
Dan was born in Manitowoc on Sept. 24, 1925, son of the late Walter and Marie
(Fessler) Baryenbruch. He was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with
the class of 1943. After high school, Dan became a member of the U.S. Army
Infantry serving from Dec. 1943 until May 1946. After his service in the Army,
Dan was employed with Baryenbruch Service Station from 1946 until 1965. He was
then employed as a postal carrier until his retirement in 1987. Dan was a member
of Knights of Columbus No. 710, Eagles Aerie No. 706, National Association of
Letter Carriers No. 490, American Legion Post No. 88, T.P.A., National Association
of Retired Federal Employees, Lakeshore Federal Employees, and the Manitowoc
County Softball Hall of Fame. Dan and John Dufek were installed in 2005 as
"Super Fans" at Roncalli High School. He was also a devoted member of St. Francis
of Assisi Catholic Church in Manitowoc.
Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Alice Baryenbruch,
Manitowoc; one nephew, Pat (Laura) Baryenbruch, Raleigh, NC.; three nieces,
Peggy (Don) Carson, Greenfield, Ind., Barbara (Gregg) Luhring, Sister Bay, and
Beth (Jeff) Anderson, Green Bay. Eleven great nieces and nephews along with other
relatives and friends also survive. Dan was preceded in death by his mother and
father.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005, at St. Francis
of Assisi on Waldo, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be
the Rev. Gerald Foley. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, where
graveside military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post No. 88.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo from
9 a.m. Tuesday until the time of Mass at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family
asks that memorials be made to either St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church or
Roncalli High School.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc is assisting the
family with funeral arrangements.
