GEORGE J. BARUTH

George J. Baruth, 100, a lifelong Manitowoc resident, died early Tuesday morning,
March 3, 1987 at Park Lawn Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday
at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Arno J. Wolfgramm will officiate
and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Baruth was born February 22, 1887 at Manitowoc Rapids, son of the late Henry
and Fredricka Raether Baruth. He was a lifelong Manitowoc resident. He married
Olga Ludwig October 28, 1912 at Newtonburg, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death
August 3, 1979. Prior to retiring in 1952, Mr. Baruth was employed at Mirro Aluminum
Company for many years and was the oldest member of First German Evangelical Lutheran
Church.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Valeria Baruth of Diamond
City, Arkansas; a daughter and son-in-law, Norma and Louis Mrozinski of Manitowoc;
five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in
death by a daughter, Nora Bonk in 1973, a grandson, Dale in 1971, a brother and three
sisters.
Friends may call at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, after 9:30 am Thursday until
the time of services. There will be no Wednesday evening visitation at the Pfeffer
Funeral Home.

George Baruth and Miss Olga Ludwig are Married This Afternoon
George Baruth, a southside young man and Miss Olga Ludwig of Newton were married
at the parsonage of the Rev. Karl Machmiller this afternoon, the wedding being
the culmination of several years friendship. Attending the couple were Melvin
Ludwig and Miss Lottie Tech. Mr. Baruth, who is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Baruth
is employed at the Rathsack Hardware Company and is well known to young people of
the city. His bride, while not so well known in the city, is a daughter of prominent
Newton people, Mr. and Mrs. John Ludwig. Mr. and Mrs. Baruth will reside on South
Thirteenth Street.
