former county treasurer, died Saturday afternoon at the home, following a
lingering illness.
Mrs. Baruth, nee Fredericka Raether, was born in Manitowoc Rapids in 1860 and in
1880 was married to Henry Baruth. They located on a farm in Manitowoc Rapids
where they lived until 28 years ago when they retired and moved to this city.
After locating here Mr. Baruth was elected county treasurer, serving four years.
The couple observed their golden wedding in 1930. Mr. Barruth died five years
ago.
Survivors are two sons, George and Reinhold of this city, three daughters, Mrs.
John Schramm of Sargeant, Minn. Mrs. Fred Mueller and Mrs. Charles Tills, of
this city; brother, Louis Raether, of this city, sister, Mrs. Charles Struck, of
New London, Wis.; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the First German Evan.
Lutheran church, the Rev. L.H. Koeninger officiating. Burial will be in
Evergreen cemetery.
The body may be viewed at the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei funeral home. It will
be moved to the church Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock.
