Elton R. Baruth, age 89, of 1433 Gunnell Lane, Manitowoc, died Wednesday,
Aug. 4, 2004, at his home. Memorial funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, at First Lutheran Church, 521 N. Eighth St., Manitowoc.
The Rev. Steven Solberg will officiate with burial of his cremated remains at
Evergreen Cemetery.
Elton was born March 1, 1915 in Manitowoc, son of the late Reinhold and Inga
(Madson) Baruth. He grew up and was educated in Manitowoc and graduated from
Lincoln High School with the class of 1934. He was art director at Mirro Company
for 45 years retiring in 1980. On Nov. 18, 1948, he married Helen Turgasen at
First Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death July 28, 1996 after 47 years
together. Elton was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Manitowoc Historical
Society. Elton enjoyed gardening and making things grow.
Survivors include one daughter: Jane Carter, Amarillo, Texas; two sons: Edward
(Lynn) Baruth, Two Rivers; Andrew Baruth, Manitowoc; eight grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; one brother: Arthur (Mary Jane) Baruth, Manitowoc.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc.
The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc assisted the Baruth
Family.
