UNDER PHYSICIAN'S CARE.
Emil Barta, Railway Employe, Suffers Terribly from Frozen Hand.
Frozen ears, face, hands and feet were common Sunday and Monday and in several
cases the victims are under the care of physicians. Emil Barta, employed by the
C. & N.W. in the yards suffered a terrible experience Sunday night while
assisting in clearing the wreck in the Calumet yards. His feet were frozen and
his hands also. Three fingers of one hand are minus as a result of an accident
some time ago and the freezing of the member caused the old wounds to break
open anew, inflicting much suffering on the unfortunate man, who is now being
cared for by a physician. Other employes of the C. & N.W. engaged in the same
work also suffered from the cold.
