Charles Baeckmann, 69, of Custer St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday morning at the Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where he had been a patient for the past three days following a heart attack. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Friday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, the Rev. Paul Blaufuss officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Baeckmann was born August 2, 1887 in Manitowoc and as a young boy moved with his parents to the homestead farm in the Town of Newton. He operated the farm until his retirement three years ago after which he moved back to Manitowoc. He was the son of the late Carl and Minnie Genz Baeckmann.
Survivors include three sons, Gerald, Kenneth and Roger of Manitowoc; five sisters, Mrs. Lydia Henrickson of Waukesha, Mrs. Anna Karstens, Mrs. Mabel Duas and Mrs Emma Hendrickson of Manitowoc and Mrs. Reinert Lange of Rt. 4, Manitowoc.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 pm Thursday.
