LEOLA M. BADGER

Miss Leola M. Badger, 71, of 718 N. Water St., Manitowoc, died Friday, March 22, at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. William Plank will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Miss Badger was born March 26, 1913, at Concord, New Hampshire, daughter of the late Ernest Charles and Ruby May Burn Badger. She worked at Kingsburg brewery and later at Sorge's Dairy in Manitowoc. While attending college she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Miss Badger was also a member of Manitowoc Chapter of American Red Cross, where she had volunteered her services for over 44 years. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the Red Cross and was instrumental in getting the Meals of Rolling Wheels started for the Red Cross. Miss Badger was a driver for that program for 12 years. In 1976 she received the Clara Barton Award in recognition of her exceptional volunteer service to the American Red Cross. She was also a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a nephew, Richard Charles Preston of Orlando, Fla., and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Dorothy S. Preston of Santa Maria, Calif. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest Charles Badger Jr. and Richard Badger in infancy.
Friends may call at Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday morning from 8:30 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials would be appreciated to Manitowoc Chapter of the American Red Cross or First Presbyterian Church.
