JOHN L. BACON, SR. (d. 1946)
John L. Bacon, 72, of 932 Lincoln boulevard, died last night in his sleep of
a heart attack. His son, John Jr., with whom he resided, spoke to his father
at 10:30 p.m. when he retired, and when he went to awaken him this morning,
he found him dead.
Mr. Bacon was a salesman for the Smalley Manufacturing Co. of this city, and
for the past 22 years was a salesman for the Fox River Tractor Co. of Appleton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Urbanek and Schlei funeral
home, the Rev. C.H. Phipps officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Friends my call at the funeral home from Thursday noon until the time for
services Friday.
Mr. Bacon was born in 1874 and was a lifelong resident of this city. In 1903
he married Miss Mathilde L. Nienaber. She preceded her husband in death four
years ago. Survivors are two sons, John L., of this city and Donald F. of Two
Rivers and three grandchildren.
