Donald F. Bacon, 75, a resident of Glenview, Ill., a former Manitowoc resident, died Saturday morning, May 14, in a Park Ridge, Ill., nursing home.
Private funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Urbanek and Schlei Pfeffer and Reinbold Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. William Plank will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Bacon was born July 30, 1907, at Manitowoc, son of the late John L. and Mathilde Nienaber Bacon. He grew up and was educated at Manitowoc and married Bernice H. Kitzerow Sept. 23, 1931, at First Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc. They had lived at Glenview, Ill., the past 30 years. He was former district manager for Hamilton Manufacturing Company of Two Rivers, retiring in 1976. While in Manitowoc Mr. Bacon was active with the local chapter of Boy Scouts of America, and was awarded the Silver Beaver medal. He was a member of Glenview Community Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice, a son, Robert Bacon of Laramie, Wyo.; a daughter, Bonnie Jean Bacon of Glenview; a brother, John L. Bacon of Manitowoc and a grandson.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Pfeffer and Reinbold Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials would be appreciated to Resurrection Nursing Pavilion, 1001 North Greenwood Ave., Park Ridge, Ill. 60068.
