Ex-Manitowoc Woman Victim
Mrs. Herman Bachmann, 38, of 397 Sierra Amatepec, Mex., former Manitowoc resident,
was killed Monday when a private plane in which she was a passenger with two
others crashed on a flight into Texas.
Mrs. Bachmann was the former Gretchen Hoyer, daughter of Frank and Adell Peterson
Hoyer of Manitowoc. She was born July 29, 1930, at Manitowoc, attended Lincoln
High School and Carleton College, Northfield, Minn., and received her bachelor of
science degree in education from the University of Minnesota. She taught school in
Portland, Ore., before her marriage Dec. 28, 1955, to Herman Bachmann at the Hoyer
home.
She is survived by her husband, two sons, Mark and Steven, of Mexico City, her
parents and a brother, Charles, of Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home,
Manitowoc. The Rev. Gervase Zanotti will officiate and cremation will follow.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 9:30 a.m. Friday until time of service.
Memorials may be made to Memorial Hospital.
