George J. Nelson, 80, of Blanchardville, died Thursday, May 22, 1986. He was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Clare Hospital after becoming ill at home. He was born April 13, 1906 in Argyle, Lafayette County, to Nels and Caroline (Vinger) Nelson. He attended rural schools in the Argyle area. He married Helen J. Bakhouse on March 29, 1932 in Tomah. They farmed in Wilton and then moved to the Argyle-Blanchardville area where they farmed until retiring to rural Blanchardville in 1968. They moved to the Village of Blanchardville in 1982. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Blanchardville.

-Daughters: Grace (Mrs. Gordon) Larson and Jeanette (Mrs. Frank) Forman
-Sons: Howard (Janet) Nelson, Marvin (Karen) Nelson and Martin George Nelson in infancy
-Brother: Raymond Nelson
