RALPH E. DETTERLINE Age 78, of Hobart, passed away Friday, October 3, 2003, at the Horton VNA Hospice, Valparaiso.
Ralph was a lifelong Hobart resident and a U.S. Navy veteran during WWII. He was retired from Nipsco with 34 years of service and member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Ralph is survived by 2 sons, Jerry (Linda) Stowell of Laporte, IN, Keith Detterline (JoAnne Roop) of Portage; daughter, Jeannie Owen of Lake Station; 10 grandchildren, Dwayne Stowell, Marcia Detterline, Jerry Stowell, Becky Detterline, Steven Owen, Dayna (Chris) Thomas,
Sally Detterline, Robyn Detterline, Dylan Merrell, and Danielle Blackwell; great-grandson, Cameron Thomas; brother, Lester (Lois) Detterline of Deltona, FL; 2 sisters, Vera (Thomas) Kalberer of Hobart, Peggy (William) Malinoff of Lake Station; many nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by wife, Florence, son, Kevin, brother, Harold A., and sister, Mae Wheeler.
Funeral services Tuesday. October 7, 2003, 10 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, with Rev. Gary Nagy officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, IN. Visitation Monday 2-5 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
