"Samuel Farmer Ely was born August 29, 1890, to Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ely and died December 15, 1963, at the age is 73 years. He served in the US Army from January 23, 1918, to January 24, 1919. On February 26, 1923, he was united in marriage to Effie M. Crevier of Frankfort. In 1957, Mr. Ely retired from carpentry work, and he and Mrs. Ely moved to Olsburg, Kansas. Survivors include his wife, Effie, of Olsburg, son, Samuel J. of Lincoln, Nebraska, and three grandchildren, Sam Jr., Michael and Mary Ely of Lincoln Nebraska. Survivors also include four brothers, Earl and Willard of Axtell, Frank of Woodbury, Tennessee, and Edwin of near Osburne, and two sisters, Hattie Schneider of Osburne and Gertie Bergman Axtell. Funeral services were held at Youngberg Mortuary, Waterville, Kansas, Wednesday, December 18 at 10:00 am, and interment was made in the Catholic Cemetery at Blaine, Kansas.
