From the Algona Upper Des Moines, March 25, 1976:

Swea-Eagle - Anton Nels Andersen, 82, of Swea City, died of cancer at the Holy Family Hospital in Estherville Sunday, March 21, 1976.

Services for Mr. Andersen were held in the Immanuel Lutheran Church at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. David Samuelson officiating. Burial was in the Harrison Township Cemetery with the Henry Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Anton Andersen was born at Hampton, Nebraska October 18, 1893, a son of Rev. A. M. Andersen. He was educated at Blair, Nebraska and married Sena Neve April 5, 1917 at Ringsted. The couple came to Swea City 23 years ago when he purchased the dry goods store from Sam Rystad. He owned and operated the Andersen Dry Goods which was sold last year.

Mr. Andersen is survived by two children. A son, Cameron, lives at Sunnyvale, California, and a daughter, Joan, Mrs. Arne Sorensen, resides at Malvern, Pennsylvania. There are five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

One brother, Allen Andersen of Springfield, Massachusetts, and a sister, Mrs. Agnes Seiler of Westminster, California, also survive. Mrs. Andersen preceded him in death in November of 1975.
