Sherman was a prominent skiing enthusiast and frequently participated in winter sports events. He was a member of the Aaronic priesthood, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mr. Rowsell left East High School to work as a service station attendant. He had received his elementary and secondary school education also at West High School, Bryant Junior High School, Horace Mann School and Lafayette School. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. LaRue Cook Rowsell Bowen, Salt Lake City; his father, California; a maternal grandmother, Mrs. Laura Cook, Salt Lake City
