Sherman was a prominent skiing enthusiast and frequently participated in winter sports events. He was a member of the Aaronic priesthood, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mr. Rowsell left East High School to work as a service station attendant. He had received his elementary and secondary school education also at West High School, Bryant Junior High School, Horace Mann School and Lafayette School.
