AMANDA B. AVERY-WAGNER

Amanda B. Avery-Wagner, age 88, former Newton resident, died Monday, May 31, 1999, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, 1999, at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, 2426 North Rapids Rd., Manitowoc. Rev. Keith Haag will officiate with burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
Amanda was born March 28, 1911, at Mishicot, daughter of the late Henry and Alvina Blum Thielbar. She grew up and was educated at Mishicot. She married Donald B. Avery, December 22, 1933, at Manitowoc. Donald preceded her in death August 11, 1956. She then married Theodore (Ted) Wagner, May 30, 1963, at Osman. She was a charter member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church. Amanda loved crocheting and shared her talents as gifts to many, was active in the Pigeon Lake Garden Club, and for 60 years enjoyed playing cards with the same group.
Survivors include her husband, Theodore; one son and daughter-in-law, Dale W. and Ruth J. Avery, Whitelaw; one daughter and son-in-law, Janice M. and Mark C. Rasmussen, Manitowoc; five grandchildren, Sheri (Toby) Treichel, Ridgefield, Conn., Cindy (Rick) Oswald, Manitowoc, Kathy (Robert) Bohling, Two Rivers, Chris (Christine) Rasmussen, Green Bay, Karen (Mark) Peterman, Manitowoc; 14 great-grandchildren; one step-son and daughter-in-law, John (Vangie) Wagner, Osman; 14 step-grandchildren, 25 step-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Marchy Thielbar, Mishicot; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and William Thielbar.
Relatives and friends may call at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, from 10 a.m. Thursday, until the time of service at 1 p.m.
Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is serving the family.
The family would like to thank the staff at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Dr. Andrew Yetter, and Holy Family Memorial Medical Center Hospice for their compassionate care.
