KATHERINE AUTON (d. 1948)

Miss Katherine Auton, 76, died early today at the home of her sister, Mrs.
Joseph Peroutka, of 417 North Fifth street, following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the Urbanek and Schlei
funeral home, and at 9 o'clock at the Sacred Heart church, the Rev. L. M.
Schorn officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Miss Auton, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Auton, was born in Chicago
in 1871 and the next year her parents moved to this city. She was employed for
36 years as a stenographer in the offices of the Rahr Malting company, retiring
in 1940. She was a member of the Altar society of the Sacred Heart church.
Survivors are a sister, Mrs. Peroutka and a brother, Arthur, both of this city.
The body may be viewed after Wednesday noon at the funeral home where the rosary
will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
