DEATH CLAIMS MRS. K. AUTON AT AGE OF 72
Mrs. Catherine Auton, a resident of the city for fifty years, passed away at
the family home on Fifth street early today at the age of 72 years, death
resulting from paralysis which she suffered five months ago, followed by a
second stroke two weeks ago. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning
from Sacred Heart church with interment at Evergreen.
Mrs. Auton, nee Katherine Kane, was born in County Limerick, Ireland, December
24, 1850 and was married to Leonard Auton in 1868, who preceded her in death
36 years ago. Mrs. Auton came to Manitowoc county in 1871 and has resided here
ever since. Mrs. Auton was well known to a large circle of friends who will be
sorry to learn of her death. For months she has been confined to her home,
though retaining her faculties.
Four children survive Mrs. Auton, Miss Catherine Auton, Mrs. Joseph Peroutka
and Arthur of this city and Mrs. Anna Burke, of Washington D.C.
