Mrs. Arnold Andes, 82, of Kenosha, died there Wednesday after a three months
illness.
Funeral services will be at Friedens Lutheran Church, Kenosha, Thursday.
Graveside rites will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc,
the Rev. Edmund Olson of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, officiating.
Mrs. Andes, nee Caroline Schroeter, was born at Manitowoc, daughter of the
late August and Wilhelmina Uttech Schroeter, one of the city’s pioneer families.
She attended First German Evangelical Lutheran School and was graduated from the
old Washington High School, Manitowoc. For many years she taught the primary
grades at the German Lutheran School, Eighth and Hancock streets.
She was married to George L. Simpson at Manitowoc. After his death she moved to
Rockford, Ill, where she was married to Arnold Andes of Rockford, who also
preceded her in death. She was a resident of Kenosha for the past 20 years.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Edmund Reimers of Manitowoc, Mrs. Alfred Altman
of Sheboygan and Mrs. Paul Magnusson of Kenosha; a brother, Frederick Schroeter
of Green Bay, and nieces and nephews. A niece, Mrs. Kenneth Hendrick, lives at
Manitowoc. A brother and two sisters preceded her in death.
