Franklin Tempest Allen, 64, of 1710 Waldo Blvd., Manitowoc, died late Thursday
evening at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at First Reformed United church of
Christ, Manitowoc. The Rev. William Schultz will officiate with burial in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Allen was born Feb. 24, 1912, at Beloit, son of the late Dr. William and Dr.
Jessie Petrie Allen. He attended Beloit schools and Elgin Academy, graduating
from Beloit College in 1935 and taking graduate work at University of
Wisconsin-Madison.
He was a World War II veteran entering the military service in January of 1942
and serving with the 51st Station Hospital. He was discharged in November of
1944 with the rank of staff sergeant.
Mr. Allen married Evelyn E. Pankopf July 1, 1950, at Burlington, Wis., residing
at Manitowoc.
He was a claims adjuster at Mirro Aluminum co., Manitowoc, retiring early 1976
due to ill health.
He was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ, American Legion
Drews-Bleser Post No. 88 and Masonic Lodge No. 65, F & AM.
Survivors include his wife, a brother, Charles Judson Allen, of Reno, Nev., and
nieces and nephews. A sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday until
11 a.m. Monday and then at the church until the time of service. A Masonic
memorial service will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
