CHARLES A. ALLEN

Charles A. Allen, 66, a resident of this city for 40 years, died yesterday
afternoon at the home 406 St. Clair street. He had been in failing health
several months.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Frazier mortuary chapel,
the Rev. Victor Nearhoof officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. Allen was born in Menasha in 1876 and later located in Oshkosh. He came to
Manitowoc in 1900 to become a car inspector for the old Wisconsin Central
railroad and 10 years later took a similar position with the North Western road.
He followed this work until taken ill.

In 1902 he married Miss Mabel Frances Houghton of this city. The widow survives
with three daughters, Mrs. George S. Kadow, Mrs. John c. Meyer, Jr., and
Dorothy, all of this city; two sons, Charles, Jr., and Paul of this city;
sister, Mrs. E.W. Pettengill of Menasha; and six grandchildren.

The body may be viewed at the funeral home after seven o'clock tonight.
