Child of James Robert Payne and Grace Goodson Payne. Grace married John Daniel Pope (her first cousin) on 9/6/1893 in Albemarle Co VA. They were divorced. Grace then married James Robert Payne on 10/7/1896. They had at least five children together; Robert, Charles, James, Lloyd and Grace. One half brother Lumon Marie from Grace T. before marriage to James Robert.
