My great-great grandfather. After searching for several years I was finally able to find a notification of his death in October 1905. According to an article published in the Sacramento Bee on October 23, 1905 announcing his death, he was buried at the Sacramento City Cemetery on or around October 21, 1905. However, I can not find his name in the internee list on the cemetery website. His second wife, Susanna Sherwood, died two months later in December of 1905 and an obituary from the Sacramento Bee notes that she will be buried at Sloughhouse Pioneer Cemetery. This is also where J.O. Sherwood's first wife is buried. However, there is no cemetery record or gravestone for either Susanna and I have not been able to locate her in any of the other county cemeteries.
