Death Takes A. R. Sharp

PASCO—A. R. Sharp, retired locomotive engineer of Pasco, died at his home Saturday after a long illness. For three years Sharp has had poor health, although his illness was not considered critical until three months ago.

A veteran of the Spanish war, Sharp was a patient in the Veterans hospital for several weeks, returning to his home about a month
ago.

Sharp has lived here since 1907, when he and Mrs. Sharp came here from Roseburg. Ore., he being employed by the Northern Pacific. During the intervening years, until his retirement about eight years ago. Sharp was very well known in railroad circles.

Born in Black Rock, Ark., August 14, 1876, he lived in the same town until after his marriage to Miss Cora Biddle in 1899. He came west, to Roseburg.

Sharp was a member of the Masonic lodge, Eastern Star Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and the Spanish War Veterans and of the Christian church.

He is survived by his wife at the home, a son, Dr. C. R. Sharp, Walla Walla and a granddaughter, Dinah Rae Sharp. Two brothers, W. R. Sharp, Millwood, and E. W. Sharp, Roseburg and a sister, Mrs. W. L. Mitchell, Black Rock, Ark. also survive, as do nieces and nephews.

Funeral services have been set for Wednesday at two p.m. from chapel, with the Rev. Rodney Glasscock of the Christian church in charge of the military funeral, assisted by members of the Spanish War veterans.

Interment will be in City View cemetery
