Columbia - Esther A. Bonnette died Monday, Aug. 12, 1996. Miss Bonnette, 91, resided at 657 Glenthorne Road, Columbia. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Eau Claire Baptist Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. A native of Aiken County, Miss Bonnette was a daughter of Christopher C. Bonnette and Fannie Whaley Bonnette. She was a retired secretary for the Armed Forces, 3rd Army Recruiting, who worked in Washington, D.C., and at Fort Jackson, S.C. She was also a former manager of the Federal Credit Union of Farm Credit Bank Services. Miss Bonnette was a member of Eau Claire Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Cox Sunday School Class and was a former Sunday school and training union teacher. She was also a member of the WMU. Surviving are a sister, Wilma Bonnette, Columbia; three nieces, Nancy Pryor, Columbia, Carik Candrill, Sykesville, Md., and Lynn Rodrick, Gainesville, Fla.; three nephews, Richard Bonnette Jr. and Jerry Bonnette, both of Columbia, and Greg Caruso, Myrtle Beach; and sveral great-nieces and great-nephews. Memorial may be made to Eau Claire Baptist Church, 4427 Main St., Columbia 29203, or to a charity of one's choice. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
