He attended Rome schools and graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1945. On June 28, 1957, he married Irene M Archer at St John's Lutheran Church in Rome.
Mr Rutz was a United States Navy Veteran of WWII and also a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. Mr Ruiz was employed by US Air Force and Army for 36 years, retiring in 1982. In 1985 he was employed by Birnie Bus Service as a part time school bus driver. Surviving besides his wife is his only son. Gary and daughter in law, Margaret (Marnie)Rutz., two grandchildren, Jessica E. and Justin E all of Rome. He was predeceased by four brothers, Arthur, Albert, William and Howard, and a sister Mary Rutz Yager.
