John worked for Southern Railway at Spencer Shops, NC, and died from injuries received in a train related accident in Spartanburg, SC. (He was crushed between two boxcars, according to his youngest daughter, who was 86 years old when she told me.) (Note: John would be the grandfather of the actor Richard "Dick" McKenzie, best known as playing the part of Abraham Lincoln, but in many other movies also.)
