HERMAN CAUVEL DIED IN FRANCE ON OCT. 9
Mrs. J. R. Cauvel of Cherrytree township received word last evening of the death of her son, Herman Cauvel, which occurred at Base hospital, No 76 at Vichy, France on Oct. 9 from illness, supposedly influenza and pneumonia. Mrs. Cauvel was informed by friends in Franklin, who received a letter from comrades of the young man.
Herman Cauvel was 28 years of age and left for Camp Lee on May 28 last. His father, J.R. Cauvel, died on June 20, and besides the mother, he leaves three brothers, Ward, Raymond, and Leal Cauvel, and two sisters, Edith and Bell Cauvel, and Mrs. Myrtle Prichad. He was attached to the medical corps and serving in the hospital at the time of his death. The letter received in Franklin, also mentioned the death of Jacob Hermann of that city, who died on Oct. 10, the day following young Cauvel.
