McMinnville resident and Bledsoe County native Dorothy Helen McGinness, 82, was born Nov. 6, 1925 and died May 19 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness.
A retired school teacher and member of Bethany Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Hosea and Lena (Hefner) Roberts. She was married Dec. 26, 1948 to Gentry Bryant McGinness, who preceded her in death Aug. 27, 2005. In addition to her husband and parents; she was preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Haston and sister in law; Nell Roberts.
She is survived by one son and daughter in law, Harold and Teresa McGinness of McMinnville; daughter and son in law, Becky and Tommy Bailey of McMinnville; three grandchildren and their spouses, Brandon and Stephanie McGinness, Hilary and Chris Neale and Cassie McGinness, all of McMinnville; two great grandson; Keaton and Barrett McGinness, both of McMinnville; two brothers and sister in law, John and Lois Roberts of Oak Ridge; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p. m. today in High's Chapel with Tony Lawrence and David Walker officiate. Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a. m. until time of service today at High's.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
