He served in the Navy. He moved to the Portland area in 1966 and was an electrical engineer for Elder Equipment. In 1944, he married Shirley Clark. Survivors include his wife; sons, Mike, Tom and Randy; daughters, Rita Renteria, Linda Schneider and Donna Rahn; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
