Deanna Marie Evans Ziegler Sept. 6, 1938 - July 17, 2012

Deanna was born September 6, 1938 in Caldwell and went home to be with her Lord and Savior July 17, 2012 at her home in Nu Acres, Idaho after a battle with cancer. Deanna was the third of eight siblings and was raised on a homestead in Nu Acres. There she worked alongside her family farming the land on which she lived almost her entire life. At the age of 13, she began working for the Watson family, helping care for children and cooking.

She graduated from Fruitland High School in 1956 then attended the University of Idaho and Spokane Business College.

She met her husband Larry while working at the creamery in Payette. They were married December 27, 1957 and had four children.

Deanna worked a variety of jobs throughout her life, including selling Fuller brushes and Avon, night shifts at the cannery, apple picking (with four kids in tow), and teaching remedial reading/writing at the elementary school. The job she most enjoyed was being the Social and Church News Editor for The Daily Argus Observer in Ontario. She was a gifted writer and also authored a regular column entitled "Life of A Rural Mother." Deanna's last job was as a medical transcriptionist.

She was a member of the Highway Worship Center where she served teaching Sunday school and playing the piano. She loved gospel music and camping, but most of all, spoiling her grandkids.

Her parents, Cecil and Margaret Evans, and her oldest daughter, Peggy Ray, preceded Deanna in death.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Larry Ziegler; daughter Susan Ziegler, son Larry (Gina) Ziegler, daughter Molly (Chris) Blakeman; plus seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and siblings, Phyllis Schubert, Evelyn (Don) Swart, Karl (Donella) Evans, Marilyn (Gerald) Russell, Sally (Terry) Stigile, Freda (Dan) Bingaman and Roy (Kathy) Evans.

A memorial service will be held at the Highway Worship Center in Fruitland on Tuesday, July 24th at 11:00 a.m.
