Daughter of Benjamin and Sarah (Jane) Standerfer was born in Moultrie County Illinois, August 28, 1859. Departed this life November 19th, 1919, at the age of 60 years, 4 months, and 1 day--following a brief illness of pneumonia in which her sufferings were great, but were born in the patience and fortitude which had characterized her life.
Deceased was married to Isaac H. Harris, Jan. 23rd, 1873, who preceded her in death August 31, 1878. To this union were born three children, one daughter, Rosa, dying at the age of months. Her daughter, Elizabeth (Mrs. L. Merritt) and son Lemuel Harris are still living.
She was remarried to John Harris December 22, 1879. He also preceded her in death January 17, 1918.
To the latter union four sons and one daughter were born; of this family three sons Oliver, James and Charles, and Mrs. Mabel Bell still survive.

And thy loss, we dearly feel
But 'tis God who hath bereft us
He can all our sorrows heal.~
