Funeral services for Ernest Knandel, who died early this morning in an Austin hospital, will be held on Saturday, April 14 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. The Rev. Walter Lentz will officiate, with interment in Gonzales Memorial Park.
Mr. Knandel was born in Lee county on Nov. 22, 1899, to Charles and Marie Schweihs Knandel, both natives of Germany. He was married to Hertha Behlen on Nov. 12, 1924 in Gonzales, where Mr. Knandel was a farmer.
He was a member of the First Evengelica
Lutheran church, served as a director for 45 years for Hochheim Prairie Insurance Co.m Branch 4; was a member of the Lutheran church council, and also served on the old Cost School Board.
