He was born June 2, 1908, in Laurel, Barbour County, a son of the late Daniel Chapman Foy and Virginia Alice Corder Foy.
Surviving are his wife, the Erma Osa Channell, whom he married November 8, 1928; four daughters, Mrs. Glenda (Donald) Fitzwater, Chenoweth Creek, Elkins, Mrs. Janet (Earl) Fryor, Falls Church, Virginia, Miss Sandra J. Foy, Washington, D.C. Mrs. Paula Sue (James) Miller, Santa Fe, New Mexico; seven sons, Russel N. Foy, Windlham, Ohio, Ronald H. Foy, Leetonia, Ohio, Loye D. Foy Martinsburg, Tennessee. Bill T. Foy Jr. Berlin, Germany, Daniel C. Foy, Larry B. Foy, Stephen Paul Foy, all of Belington; sister, Mrs. Virginia Dare Hewitt. Elkins; brother Goff Foy, Philippi; 24 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are three infant daughters (two were unnamed twins and the third is Gwendolyn); two sisters, Dove Foy Skidmore and Avis Foy: seven brothers, Clay Foy, Gordon Foy, Draper Foy, Dent Foy, Ted Foy, George Foy, and Daniel "Stewart" Foy.
Mr. Foy was a retired coal miner and a Methodist by faith.
Friends will be received after 4 pm today at FE Runner Funeral Home Chapel where services will be held at 2 pm Monday, with the Reverend Meade Gutshall of Parsons officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain State Memorial Gardens.
