Violet L. Tyrrell, 85, formerly of Chilton, passed away Saturday, Jan. 21, 1989, at the Calumet Homestead Nursing Home.
She was born Sept. 19, 1903, in Mattoon, the daughter of the late Montgomery and Elsie (Swathwood) Walsh.
She married William L. Tyrell Aug 9, 1920 in Wittenberg. She had been employed at Rose Shop in Appleton, and the Fashion Shop in Appleton. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Chilton; a member of the Christian Mothers; and a former member and officer of the Chilton Legion Auxiliary No. 125.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Waldo (Elizabeth) Greider, Columbian City, IN; Mrs. Leonard (Darlyne) Behnke, Waunakee; Mrs. Donald (Califern) Schley, Plymouth; Mrs. Jo Ann Wrase, Menasha; a son, William Tyrrell Jr., New London; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband William on Sept. 14, 1983; a son; two grandchildren; a great grandson; three sisters and a brother.
The funeral service was held at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Chilton. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
