Born near West Point, he spent most of his life in that community and was a retired repairman for the General Telephone Company of Indiana. He was married in 1941 at Muncie to Betty G. Byrd who died last November. He was a member of CWA Union, Local 5771.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Erwin Rhoda of Monticello; two stepsons, Airman 1. C. Wayne E. Stivers of Bunker Hill Air Force Base and A. Harold Stivers of South Bend, and a sister, Mrs. Hazel Cropper of Munce.
