Clyde O. Jones, 84, of 2111 Stilwell St., was found dead in his home Sunday afternoon. He had been in failing health for two months. Mr, Jones was born and reared in West Point. He was married to Ruth M. Schrum, who survives, in Kankakee, 111., in 1912. He moved to Lafayette in 1922 and was employed until 1951 at the Monon Shops as a Carman. After his retirement, he worked as a carpenter for National Homes and Purdue University. Mr. Jones was a member of the Schuyler Wesleyan Church, IOOF Merger Lodge No. 5, Interstate Association of Retired Railway Employes No. 3, and Brotherhood of Railway Carmen of America Local No. 556.
Surviving with the widow are four daughters, Mrs. Wanda Neal, Mrs. Horace A. Hilt, Mrs. Jacob H. Bowsher, all of Lafayette, and Mrs. Bernard Dickes of Indianapolis.
